Commercial Projects

Guiry/Shillstad Buildings
Renovation of a National Register building to include 28 housing units. As a part of the renovation a rooftop residental penthouse structure was added.
Market Optical
In addition to the general contractor’s scope of work, multiple local artisans were engaged in the project in a collaborative effort that included custom furniture, faux wall finishes, custom metal detailing on fixtures and signage and slumped glass.
Maynard Building
Design work included exterior restoration, a new public entrance at South Washington Street, new fire stairs and full historic renovation of the interior in a manner sympathetic to the original building character. The project received an AIA Honor Award in 1976.
Mutual Life Building
Essentially unused since the 1950s, the building had an intact but deteriorated turn-of-the-century interior and an ornate Victorian Romanesque Revival stone and brick exterior. Rehabilitation work included extensive seismic upgrading, exterior restoration, masonry cleaning, reconfiguring commercial interiors, and establishment of a new mechanical and life safety core.
Sedorco Office Buildings
The building layout, spatial configuration and finishes of this 180,000 s.f. office complex are designed to create a casual, informal work environment that incorporates an industrial ethic in the building, relating to the site’s past history of light industrial use. Exposed building systems, steel construction and building detailing contribute to the overall imagery. The design includes state-of-the-art voice/data capabilities.
Sherman Clay Retail Store
Rehabilitation work under Phase I included extensive seismic upgrading, new HVAC systems, and redesign of the retail piano showroom spaces on the first and second floors. This project entailed the compilation of an existing building conditions report and a site utilization analysis.
